Job Overview
The Accounting Officer is responsible for functions related to accounts receivable, invoicing and general accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting activities of posting sales invoices including journal entries in SAP for SHS and PASTEL for Minigrids.
- Generate daily sales report and post the sales in SAP in all Service Centre locations:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external use: balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports.
- Prepare debtors accounts reconciliations.
- Process credit memo requests and ensure all requests are completed and maintain an up dated credit memo file/folder with crossed referenced replacement invoices.
- Checks that SAP price lists are as per approved prices.
- Checks correct posting of VAT on product sales.
- Assist in stock counts.
Preferred skills
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong mathematical skills and Advanced Excel.
- Experience in accounts receivable and Inventory management.
- Experience with accounting software and online platforms especially SAP/Pastel.
- Good communication etiquette.
- Must be a team player who also works well independently.
- Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.
Required qualifications
- High school certificate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or any related field.
- Final level ZICA/ACCA/CIMA.
- Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in payables.
- Must be a member of ZICA.
