The Judiciary is an independent arm of Government established under Part Vill
of the Constitution (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is “To administer
justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner”. In
order to improve service delivery, the Judiciary under Muchinga Province is
inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to be considered for the following positions;
2. ASSISTANT COURT CLERK (JSS 03) X 7 (Annual Basic Salary of K50, 443.58) to
be based at Tembwe and Chifunda Local Court In Chama District, Kopa
Local Court in Kanchibiya District, Mwenimpanza Local Court in Nakonde
District, Chibesakunda Local Court in Shiwang’andu District, Chinsali and
Nkweto Local Court in Chinsali District.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidates will be required to report to the Local Court Registrar
and will be responsible for the following duties:
• To undertake effectively the recording of court proceedings in order to
facilitate the maintenance of an accurate record.
• Undertaking periodically production and compilation of Court returns in
order to facilitate decision making.
• Undertaking timely preparation of the Cause list in order to provide
information on matters coming up in Court.
• Undertaking the storage and presentation of exhibits in order to facilitate adjudication.
• Undertaking timely the preparation of documentation for appeals to Appellate Courts in order to facilitate the administration of justice.
• Undertakes efficiently the conducting of interviews with potential
litigants in order to establish the nature of their cases.
• Undertakes efficiently the receipting of fees paid to the court in order to
facilitate accountability of funds.
• Undertakes timely the banking of collected fees in order to ensure their
safety.
• Undertakes timely the preparation of books of accounts in order to
facilitate accountability of public funds.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
• Full Form V or Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with five (5) ‘0’Level
Credits or better including English and Mathematics.
• Certificate in Management Studies or equivalent will be an added
advantage.
• Ability to write case records.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Must be between the age of 18 and 44 years.
OTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Integrity
• Must possess high levels of Confidentiality.
• Good Interpersonal skills.
• Must be computer literate.
• Transcription skills.
• Knowledge of any of the Local language (Senga, Tumbuka, Bisa, Bemba and Namwanga). Knowledge of Swahili will be an added advantage.
