Mopani Copper Mines Plc has operations in Mufulira and Kitwe on the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Company seeks the services of a Clinical Officer (x1)
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, organizing, coordinating, and communicating on all general administrative activities at Emergency Control and Communication Centre (ECCC). The candidate shall also be expected to ensure effective and efficient Screening, diagnosis and prescription of appropriate medication, management of medical/surgical and occupation health related emergences.
The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to the following:
Co-ordinate and ensure quick response to the scene of incident/accident within the specified standard time.
Monitor and control the utilisation of stocks and equipment at the health facility
Keep accurate, concise and complete records of facility activities and submit as per statutory and company requirements.
Effectively manage, resuscitate, stabilize, transport and handover patients/casualties timely.
Screening, diagnosis, and prescription of appropriate medication and perform minor surgical procedures.
Maintain safety of paramedics, patients/casualties, other responders, and equipment during operations.
Effectively and efficiently, respond with the Advanced Life Support ambulance.
Conduct standard tests on emergency response equipment in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures specifications/manuals.
Maintain an incident free environment through continuous safety education, training, maintenance of equipment and good housekeeping. .
Maintain professionalism and ethical values.
Adhering to all other assignments given that are lawful and fair.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
Mining First Aid Certificate.
Certificate/Diploma in Anaesthesia, Basic Life Support /Intermediate Life Support /Advanced Life Support will be an added advantage.
2 Years of post-graduation experience
Good understanding of Emergency Trauma Management.
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
