AGL Zambia Limited is pleased to announce incredibly exciting opportunities to join the Customs department at our Ndola, Kitwe and Chingola offices as Customs Clearing Officer.

How You Will Impact AGL Zambia Ltd.

Under the supervision of the Customs Manager, the Customs Clearing Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulations and internal customs procedures. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of customs clearance processes. As a Customs Clearing Officer, you will contribute to the smooth functioning of our organization’s customs operations.

Responsibilities:

Job File and Instructions

  • Receive and read the File from the Operations department
  • Check documentation on the File before proceeding with the Entry

Documents

  • Calculate Duties payable
  • Prepare Worksheet for Single or Multiple Entries
  • Register Entry with Customs using Asycuda System

Payments Of Duties

  • Cheque received and make payments to Customs with proper Receipts

Acquit Entry

  • Record Entry in Customs Ledger

Daily Crossings

  • Compiling Daily Crossings

What You Need to Succeed.

  • Diploma in Clearing, Shipping and Forwarding/Transport & Logistics
  • Grade Twelve School Certificate
  • At least 2 Years of work experience in a Similar Position
  • Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in customs clearance or logistics.
  • Sound knowledge of customs regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance software and systems i.e Asycuda World.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
