Job Description

  • Compiling detailed communications planning and proactively sharing plans with the department
  • Ensuring effective and consistent communications to UCF messaging across all channels, including social media
  • Coordinating press coverage and interviews to maximize publicity whenever possible, in liaison with external press partners and venues.
  • Develop and deploy a creative and strategic organic and paid social-media strategy to engage various markets, sharing the mission, Vision and insights of the company while advising departments of best practices for social media marketing and compliance.
  • Monitor and report on performance analytics to make optimization recommendations.
  • Adopt and work efficiently within the commercial department to deliver on timelines and marketing strategies.
  • Public and Media relations engagement (PR) (print, electronic, social media houses) maintaining a digital news archive and participating in strategic communication efforts.
  • Develop and coordinate social media management support: Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter, Instagram
  • Implementing the marketing plan, communications strategy and driving sales growth and volumes
  • Planning and implementing of marketing campaigns and commercial strategy in-order to build brand awareness, attract new customers and support customer development.
  • To write, edit, coordinate and publish content across various channels including the websites, social media, press release, print and online communications and various marketing materials.
  • Support the development and delivery of marketing plans for in accordance with company strategic plan pillars.
  • Market and communicate events such as seminars, conferences and produce event materials including presentation, demo plots and cultural events.
  • Produce, edit and distribute updates and materials for external and internal audiences, including regular e-newsletters, social impact reporting.
  • Ensure consistent branding is used throughout the organization and help maintain and build reputation and act as brand champion.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with service groups, media representatives, community organizations and businesses
  • Web development and content management for both HTML and CMS (content management system) websites
  • Planning and coordinating special events and assisting in supporting organization activities and events where appropriate (Agri shows, chiefs’ cultural ceremonies, expo, farmers and agro-dealer training engagements)


  • Excellent eye for detail and demonstrated experience juggling multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Strong writing skills with ability to develop and edit copy to high standards.
  • Experience managing and developing content for diverse engagement platform.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management (management of marketing activities from inception to delivery)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proof reading and Graphic design knowledge
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft office and understanding of power point presentation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing and / or communications and demonstrated experience working in a professional and business environment.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing social media content across various channels: websites, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, twitter, tube etc.


BA degree, preferably in communication, arts , journalism, public relations or marketing or related from an accredited college or institution with 5 years of marketing experience and knowledge of agriculture industry as added advantage.
