1) PROGRAMME OFFICER – MEMBERSHIP AND CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

STATION: KITWE (Readvertised)
The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is a statutory body established by an Act of parliament the EIZ Act No.17 of 2010. The Act provides for the registration of engineering professionals, engineering organizations and engineering units and regulation of their professional conduct.
The Institution seeks the services of a Programme Officer Membership and Continuous Professional Development to be based in Kitwe. The Institution now invites applicants to fill the position including interns.

OVERALL, PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To plan, organize and coordinate membership recruitment, Continuous Professional Development programme, and provide other membership services; establish and maintain effective communication and stakeholder networks that will ensure perpetual existence and continued relevance to society of the Engineering Institution of Zambia;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Organize and coordinates Continuous Professional Development (CPD); programmes and other services to members as per approved Annual Work Plan and Budget;
2. Participates in the development and/or promotion of standards for engineering education, training and/or professional practice within and outside the Institution;
3. Designs and implements membership recruitment programmes;
4. Develops and markets innovative, responsive and cost-efficient services to promote membership retention and/ or public recognition of the engineering profession;
5. Communicates and networks effectively with fellow staff, members of the Institution, relevant influential leaders and decision-makers;
6. Facilitates planning and/or implementation of member led Institutional activities at regional, district, branch and/ or section level;
7. Facilitates or conducts specified technical and/ or policy level research studies; 8. Develops and participates in advocacy programmes for safeguarding and furthering the economic, social and/ or professional interests of members;
9. Scrutinizes applications for membership or professional practice 10. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
1. Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent;
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Engineering or degree in any social science.
3. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing will be an added advantage
4. Over 5 years working experience, including industrial exposure, 2 years at middle management level.
5. Membership of Engineering Institution of Zambia;
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint) and data management software packages.
