Project Officer – Skills Development

Role Description: The Project Officer is responsible for the implementation and supporting of project components on skills development in the WASH sector in Zambia.
The role is in support of and in close exchange with the Programmes Manager in the WASH & Knowledge Unit of WfW. The Project officer is responsible for the technical aspects of the skills development programme.
This includes managing industry-led training for vocational training, development of practical training materials, curriculum and course development for water and sanitation related courses. WfW Zambia as a team is still in the beginning. Thus, All roles in the team, also the one of the project officer, may further evolve over time and thus, require high flexibility and willingness to adapt.
Educational background:

› Or related fields
Your main responsibilities:
› Leading on all technical aspects related to the Skills Development Programme
› Leading on the organisation of industry related training for vocational training
› Leading on curriculum and course development for water and sanitation related courses
› Leading on the development of practical training material
› Supporting any area requiring general support for the successful implementation of
WASH & Knowledge programmes in Zambia.
› Support reporting and communication of activities in skills development in Zambia
› Networking in the Zambian WASH and Vocational Education Training Sector
Your knowledge, skills and experience:
› Academic background in Engineering (Water and Sanitation), Education or related fields.
› 5+ years of relevant experience in Education.
› Passion for and understanding of water and sanitation related issues.
› Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate clearly
to different target groups and with a range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
(professional use of English, verbal use of other local Zambian languages is a plus).
› Experience in working with communities, NGOs, and government agencies in the WASH sector.
› Good knowledge of the WASH sector in Zambia.
› Good application skills for online tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
› Excellent project management skills including the ability to manage timelines, budgets,
and resources effectively.
