Job Description & Summary
A career in Risk Management, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to advance and foster integrity based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organisation. You’ll focus on promoting and monitoring compliance with applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwC’s regulatory, litigation, and reputational risk.
Our Risk and Quality team identifies and assists internal teams to mitigate and control client engagement risks. As part of the team, you’ll provide advice to business teams within PwC on sound contract provisions, standards and approaches in accordance with PwC policies, principles and standards.
Scope and Dimensions of the role
- To provide support to the R&Q Manager, Directors and partners in the areas of risk, independence and quality;
- Provide support in ensuring that all applicable risk management, independence and quality control standards are embedded in the firm’s day to day processes;
- Assist in the audit of in-country processes and procedures locally to ensure absolute adherence;
- Assist in reviewing assurance R&Q processes on a regular basis and prepare reports accordingly.
R&Q roles and responsibilities
- To review CES update requests received from engagement teams and follow up with CES helpdesk to ensure that the updates are completed timely;
- To review monthly samples of audit engagement files to ensure that all ISQC1 controls are being adhered and highlight instances of exceptions;
- Maintain the assurance client list with their respective risk profiles and other all relevant information;
- Maintain a list of NAAE assignments in assurance;
- To send reminders and ensure that all client acceptance procedure are completed for new clients and proposals;
- To send reminders of A&C due and ensure that all client continuance procedures are completed periodically for existing clients;
- To obtain monthly x-LOS new jobs enquiry report from i-power and check if AFS are approved for the provision of non-audit services to audit clients;
- To prepare archiving report and send reminders on a weekly basis and follow up with managers to ensure that file archiving are done timely;
- Monthly review with L&E manager to check attendance sheet and ensure that L&E takes remedial actions for all exceptions on mandatory trainings;
- To support HC in identifying engagements which have been completed and due for performance feedbacks
- To send APSS exception report periodically and follow up with managers to ensure that the exceptions are cleared.
- To maintain a record for engagements requiring QRP, IFRS reviews and mandatory consultations
- To monitor timely completion of Real Time Assurance (RTA) reviews.
- To assist in preparing reports for management meetings
- Maintain minutes of meeting schedule and check if portfolio manager’s meeting and group meeting are being held at the correct frequency;
- To assist reviewers during their visits – local regulators, Independent QMS review, QMR and ECR.
Preferred skills
- High level of tact and diplomacy and the ability to use appropriate styles and methods of communication to ensure a professional yet personal customer service;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
- Proven administrative experience and excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to develop improve and maintain administrative systems;
- Ability to build effective working relationships with others – at all levels of the organization;
- Ability to organize multiple tasks, prioritising and delegating appropriately and or finding alternative solutions when appropriate;
- Understanding of importance of Risk Management and ability to conceptualise risk support to the office;
- Proven ability to remain calm, focused and organised and to deliver results on time when under pressure and with rapidly changing circumstances;
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- A commitment to and understanding of the principles relating to the firm’s values and aims;
- Good working knowledge of IT systems.
- Understanding of importance of Risk Management, experience within a professional services firm in a similar role is desirable.
Minimum years experience required
- At least three years’ experience in a related business environment.
Qualifications
- A degree in business management, technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
