NFC Africa Mining PLC (Chambishi Mine) an international mining company with its core business being the development of non-ferrous metals and mineral resources in Zambia. In our quest to continue supplementing Government effort by creating more local jobs, it is for this reason that we seek to employ suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to fill the vacant positions below:
1. Safety Inspector (x7)
The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal. regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities:
• To promote safe working conditions around the places of work in the plant by conducting inspections and provide advice to mitigate observed risks.
• To conduct risks assessments on all working areas underground and on the surface in order to eliminate and mitigate the identified risks.
• To conduct investigations on all accidents and incidents and produce a draft report within 24 hours of the investigations.
• To train manpower in safe working procedures and standards in order to reduce accidents and injuries. • To provide input to the daily, weekly and monthly safety reports.
• To promote a positive Health and Safety Culture. • Other duties assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized institution, a Bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Professional Safety Certification (ZOHSA) is a must.
At least minimum of 3 years’ experience in the mining sector
• Valid Blasting License & First Aid Certificate Computer Literate;
Flexible to work in fast paced environment; Must be a team player, an effective and efficient communicator
