WfW aims all its activities towards changing the way we value, use, consume and
manage water in the long term. In Zambia, WfW’s actions focus on the professional management of
water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for structurally disadvantaged urban areas, on skills
development in the water sector as well as on innovative, climate-friendly solutions for water use.

Key theme of the role:
In the role of Services, Partnerships and Innovation Lead at WfW Zambia, you will provide support
towards the establishment of the operational foundation of the Services, Partnerships & Innovation division.
The goal of the unit is to complement and extend the way WfW is creating impact in Zambia.
This objective is based on WfW’s strategy to mutually strengthen the three entities WfW Zambia,
WfW Mozambique and WfW Switzerland and to adapt already existing WfW services for the
respective local context.
The Lead supports the assessment of the potential for the launch of fair, locally produced
sustainable products and for the establishment of services and consulting offers for businesses in
the Zambian market.

This may further include:
› The design of services for business partnerships and their piloting.
› All operational tasks in line with the financial and investment forecasts for the unit.
› Corporate innovation consulting support, with a focus on sustainability-transitions.

Your main responsibilities:
› Support the iterative co-development & design (e.g. goals, scope, impact) of assessment
for translation/adaptation of WfW services to the local market & pilot of services &
consulting-models to be implemented by WfW Zambia.
› Support the co-development & design (e.g. goals, scope, impact) of assessment of
opportunities for WASH-related products & social businesses in Zambia (e.g. Soaps, Menstrual
Hygiene Cups, Bottles, Tap Water Filter Systems, etc.)
› Carry out tasks related to the development of a business plan for product and social
business possibilities for WfW in Zambia
› Support efforts across the team’s portfolio of work to increase the flow of knowledge
about innovation in the company.
› Support and facilitate activities that grow the company’s innovation ecosystem, including
consulting activities such as training, innovation projects, and more, in collaboration
with clients and partners.
› Support scoping for additional partnership and programme-enabling opportunities.
Your knowledge, skills and experience:
› Academic background in business, sales, entrepreneurship, innovation or related fields.
› 3+ years of relevant project management, business, or product and service development
experience.
› Passion for and understanding of sustainability topics, entrepreneurial thinking and
approaches.
› Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate clearly
to different target groups and with a range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
(professional use of English, verbal use of other local Zambian languages is a plus).
› Good knowledge of the business landscape in Zambia.
› Good application skills for online tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
› Excellent project management skills.
