5. METAL FABRICATOR

Job purpose:
Metal fabricators prepare, weld, and fabricate metal structures and
components. They mainly work in manufacturing plants or at
construction sites using a variety of tools to construct metal-based
assembly components.

Responsibilities:
• Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
• Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines’
• setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drikk
presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
• Double-checking design specifications before commencing
with cutting work
• fabricating and constructing metal components.
• Grinding and finishing completed products.
• Completing job reports
• And any other assigned role

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Grade 12 certificate
• 3-5 years work experience working as a metal fabricator.
• advanced knowledge of Engineering design and
manufacturing procedures.
• proficiency with metal fabrication tools including shears, rollers,flame cutters, and drill presses.
