ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – INSURANCE AND STAFF DEBTORS -GRADE ZRA06 (1 POSITION) (1 Position(s))
Job Description
Reporting directly to the Accountant-Staff Debtors and Insurance, you will be responsible for managing; all insurance businesses of the Authority; assessing risks to property and advise appropriate steps to manage the risks; timely and diligently processing of payments to staff members and reconciling staff debtors’ accounts and deal with discrepancies, complaints and problems arising and the processing of payment of medical bills as received from the Hospitals/clinics through Human resource.
Responsibility:
MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assessing budgets for risk exposure for the year;
Assessing risks to ZRA property and liabilities that the organisation may face;
Aligning ZRA insurance policy with current market trends;
Ensuring that all assets and insurable liabilities are adequately covered;
Carrying out claim’s inspections on damaged assets;
Reporting all incidences and accidents within 48hrs of receipt of notice involving an event or occurrence;
Assisting transport section in documenting claims within 30 days from the date of occurrence of an event;
Following up on all pending claims on a weekly basis;
Submits travel insurance declarations to the insurance company as and when employees are travelling outside the country;
Processing insurance premium payment to insurers;
Processing payments to staff members that entails ensuring that correct payments to staff are done timely;
Reconciling staff Medical accounts to ensure that the accounts are in correct balances;
Submitting staff medical recoveries to payroll on a monthly basis;
Processing medical payments to all Medical Suppliers on a Timely Basis;
Reconciling all Medical Supplier Accounts and requests for Suppliers Statements on a monthly basis;
Circularising to all medical suppliers at least once a quarter in order to have correct account balances;
Making follow ups with Human Resource Department on all medical bills not submitted for payment; and
Preparing monthly and ad-hoc reports as required by management for decision making.
REQUIREMENTS
?Grade Twelve School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Equivalent;
?Degree in Insurance or equivalent qualifications
?Diploma in Accounting will be an added advantage; and
?Minimum of two (2) years relevant post qualifying work experience.
