Position Title: Finance & Operations Intern – Reconciliation & Collections

1. Job Purpose
To support daily financial reconciliation, collections follow-up, and operational financial record management for the Company’s vehicle management operations while gaining practical exposure to transport finance and operational accounting systems.
The Intern will assist with:
Driver ledger management
Reconciliation support
Collections follow-up
Financial record maintenance
Operational reporting
2. Key Responsibilities
Reconciliation Support
Assist with recording driver payments
Update driver ledger balances
Penalties
Collections Support
Follow up on overdue driver balances
Assist with collections reporting
Maintain arrears tracking schedules
Financial Administration
Organize payment records and supporting documents
Assist in preparing owner payout schedules
Maintain accurate operational finance records
Reporting Support
Update reconciliation spreadsheets
Assist with daily and weekly financial reports
Escalate discrepancies identified during reconciliations
Data Verification
Verify transaction records from:
Yango platform
Internal fleet management systems
Mobile money statements
3. Minimum Qualifications
Grade 12 Certificate with 5 Credits including Mathematics and English
Diploma or Degree in progress or recently completed in: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Or related field
4. Required Skills & Competencies
Strong numerical skills
High attention to detail
Microsoft Excel proficiency
Basic accounting understanding
Good organizational skills
Confidentiality and integrity
5. Added Advantages
Knowledge of reconciliations or bookkeeping
Experience using Excel formulas and spreadsheets
Familiarity with Airtel Money or mobile money reconciliations
