Job description
Job Title: Human Resource Officer
Location: chililabombwe (Zambia)
Job Purpose
To support the effective management of human resources by handling recruitment, employee records, payroll support, compliance with Zambian labour laws, and day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
* Assist with recruitment and selection of staff
* Prepare job adverts and shortlist candidates
* Coordinate interviews and induction programs
* Prepare employment contracts and appointment letters
2. Employee Records & Administration
* Maintain accurate employee files and HR records
* Update staff attendance, leave, and personal details
* Manage staff exits and clearance processes
3. Payroll & Statutory Compliance
* Support payroll preparation
* Ensure statutory deductions are correctly processed:
* NAPS
* NHIMA
* PAYE
* Liaise with finance and relevant authorities when required
4. Labour Law & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with Zambian labour laws and regulations
* Assist in handling disciplinary cases and grievances
* Support implementation of HR policies and procedures
5. Performance Management
* Assist in performance appraisals
* Monitor staff performance records
* Support training and development initiatives
6. Employee Relations
* Act as a link between management and employee
* Promote a positive and professional work environment
* Address employee concerns professionally
7. Health, Safety & Welfare
* Support workplace health and safety initiatives
* Ensure employee welfare policies are followed
Qualifications & Requirements
* Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
* 2–3 years practical HR experience
* Knowledge of Zambian labour laws
* Familiarity with NAPSA, NHIMA, and payroll processes
* Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel)
