JCHX Mining Construction Zambia Limited (Lubambe Shaft Project) in Chililabombwe is inviting suitable qualified and experienced candidates for the following job position:
MECHANICS (x 03)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered heavy machinery, light-duty vehicles, and other mechanical equipment. This includes equipment such as KAT307 LHD’s (underground loaders), front-end loaders, and diesel- powered fleet vehicles.
Key duties include conducting inspections, troubleshooting faults, performing repairs and replacements, and ensuring all equipment operates safely, efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Perform routine maintenance on equipment in accordance with approved maintenance procedures
– Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults on diesel-powered equipment, including cleaning parts and replacing defective parts, components or systems, using appropriate tools
– Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service history Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system faults.
– Carry out pre-repair and post-repair running checks and commissioning as per OEM standards.
– Perform preventive maintenance work on vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, cooling system checks, fluid top-ups, brake pad replacements, spark plugs, batteries, and related components.
– Maintain, service and repair JCHX equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
– Develop and follow a planned maintenance schedule for all heavy and light-duty machines.
– Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are observed during maintenance work activities
Must be willing to assist project teams when required
Perform any other related duties as assigned by engineering supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
– Grade twelve certifcate
– Craft certificate or vocational training in heavy equipment repair (HER)
– 2-3 years proven experience (Mining experience is an added a MINING
– Active member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
– Must have a valid driver’s licence
– Analytical and problem-solving skills
– Valid silicosis certificate
