The Opportunity
We are seeking a strong, hands‑on Operations Manager to take full ownership of crane and heavy‑lifting operations in Solwezi. This role requires a firm, decisive leader with a visible presence in the field — someone who leads by example, takes accountability, and does not accept delays, failure, or compromised safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for operational performance, including equipment, projects, and people
- Lead and manage crane and heavy lifting operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable execution
- Ensure strict compliance with SHEQ standards, company policies, and local legislation
- Oversee planning, mobilisation, utilisation, and maintenance of cranes and equipment
- Take ownership of operational budgets, cost control, and P&L performance
- Drive results through effective equipment utilisation and cost management
- Maintain strong on‑site leadership, supervising operations and project execution directly
- Set and manage KPIs, performance standards, and team development
- Act as a key member of the local management team and represent the business internally and externally

Essential Requirements
- Proven crane and heavy‑lifting experience – non‑negotiable
- Experience managing complex operational environments and large equipment fleets
- Strong leadership personality — firm, fair, and decisive
- Ability to take ownership and lead operational teams from the front
- Solid understanding of operations management, planning, and financial performance
- Experience working in Zambia beneficial
