About Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority
The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) was set up by the Medicines
and Allied Substances Act (No. 3) of 2013 as a statutory body responsible for medicine
and allied substances regulation in Zambia.
ZAMRA’s vision is to be a leader and centre of excellence in regulation of medicines
and allied substances. Its mission is to protect and enhance public and animal health
through the regulation of medicines and allied substances
1. SAMPLE CUSTODIAN AND REGISTRY OFFICER (1)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide technical assistance, in the storage and issuance of samples in order to
maintain their integrity and make them available for use
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake effectively, the receipt and classification of samples in order to
facilitate labeling, storage, retrieval and documentation;
Undertake accurately, labeling of samples in order to ensure their traceability
and retrieval;
Undertake effectively, the storage of samples and other stores in order to
ensure their integrity and safety;
Undertake timely, the retrieval and issuance of samples and reference
materials other stores in order to facilitate laboratory analysis;
Ensure effectively the maintenance of records and other documentation in
order to facilitate processing, reporting and decision making;
Undertake regularly the maintenance of required stock levels of all laboratory
reagents and supplies in order to ensure their availability;
Ensure that in-house reference standards are subdivided, labeled and stored
according to specified procedures; and
Undertake timely the disposal of expired, obsolete samples and unwanted
materials in order to facilitate of their safe destruction.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5) ‘O’Levels with credit or
better, including Mathematics and English;
Diploma in Laboratory Science/ Equivalent;
Knowledge of ISO17025 and WHO Good Practices for Pharmaceutical Quality
Control Laboratory, and
Three years’ Laboratory work experience required.
