Job Description
The primary role of this position is to ensure all stock is received, issued and can be accounted for with minimum variance. The role supervises Stores Assistants and Stores Clerks. The role interacts with Controllers, Artisans, Quality
The position report into the Unit Manager Back-End
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Job Accountabilities:
Monitor and Control Inventory
Plan stock availability according to the production plan by reviewing the 13-week production plan and proactively addressing raw material risks.
Manage daily inventory routines, ensuring compliance with governance and stock requirements while addressing and resolving non-conformance issues.
Manage the stock count process to ensure accurate reflection of inventory and address variances appropriately.
Implement corrective actions for discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Stores Administration
Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
Check quantities and quality of received goods
Capture receipts in the relevant inventory system
File and archive delivery documentation (GRNs, invoices, etc.).
Supplier and Internal Customer Relations
Maintain regular communication with Planning to ensure raw materials are available as required and adhere to Model Stock rules.
Provide relevant information and reports to Management and resolve queries from suppliers and internal customers related to quality complications.
Address and resolve issues and queries from suppliers and internal customers promptly, focusing on quality and service.
Skills, Experience & Education Qualifications
Grade 12, O level with 5 credits or better
Minimum Degree in at least one of the following: Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Production & Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering Skills
Ability to analyze and forecast stock availability based on production plans.
Maintain effective communication with the Planning team and other stakeholders.
Manage and motivate a team to achieve set goals and maintain high-quality output
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Conduct regular safety audits and implement improvements to maintain a safe working environment
Excellent in Microsoft Excel
Experience
Minimum 3 Years’ experience, with at least 1 year in FMCG.
Experience in using an ERP system
Supply Chain experience in managing material or engineering stores or inventory control
