Twyford International is currently seeking a proactive Transport Supervisor with 3–5 years of relevant experience to support the transport and Logistics Department at our Head Office in Lusaka. This role is ideal for a driven professional, eager to contribute to a reputable manufacturing company

Key Responsibilities:

  • Go into the field to source for new transporters.
  • Make sure the Vehicles arrived is in good condition and the driver is with valid driving license to provide the required transport service and also make sure drivers provide the services as per the requirement.
  • Handle annual vehicle inspection and Insurance renewal for each Vehicles, and handle insurance cases in case of any accident or incidents.
  • Support logistic team in arrange rental trucks for transportation of different materials and make sure the driver take over all supportive documents like delivery Order, weigh bridge slips along with the goods loaded.
  • Create good working relationship with transport providers.
  • Work under the management and guidance of the Transport manager and take specific responsibility for fleet coordination and inventory control task.
  • Avail different Vehicles as per the request on daily bases and decide appropriate vehicle type for requested transport service.
  • Assist with inspection, transportation and delivery of all programs procured goods and materials in collaboration with Logistics team.
  • Regularly collect log sheets from drivers and maintained and update Vehicles files on monthly basis.

Additional Responsibilities:

1.Capacity sourcing

2. Fleet coordination

3. Vehicle maintenance (Keda Trucks)

4. supporting the drivers and oversight of asset management and inventory control

5. Evaluating Carrier KPIs

6. Evaluating and maintaining what type of resources to and not to be utilized due to all manner of delays i.e. frequent break downs, late dispatches etc. and will report to his/her Supervisor and the Head of Department

Minimum Requirements & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience
  • Manufacturing industry/fmcg or mass goods transport/logistics will be preferred but not a must

Skills & Abilities

  • Additional professional training in fleet and logistics management preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and fleet coordination and property management software;
  • Strong organizational, reporting and management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with all clients, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work hands-on, independently, and within team.
  • Demonstrated success managing and leading technical and administrative teams;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to the field offices.
