Cost Accountant

Reporting directly to the Stocks Controller, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our cost accounting processes and function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze manufacturing/production costs and prepare detailed reports.

• Monitor and record inventory movements, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

• Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. standard costs) and investigate discrepancies.

• Assist in month-end closing, including journal entries and cost allocations.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

• Collaborate with operations teams to optimize cost efficiency.

• Assist in internal and external audits related to cost accounting.

• Develop and maintain cost models for new and existing products/services.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Chartered Accountant / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field / qualification.

• Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)

• Proven experience in cost accounting or a similar role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
