Konkola Mineral Resources Limited (KMRL) a subsidiary of Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM), is one
of the largest copper producers in Zambia. It operates underground and open pit mines located at Nchanga
and Konkola. KMRI.’s growth trajectory presents exciting opportunities to leverage minerals and human
resources to enhance stakeholder value and become Zambia’s pride.
To support this vision KMRL would like to recruit experienced and qualified individual for the following
positions in the Finance and Smelter Departments:
Cost Accountant — Konkola BU x2
Job Purpose:
Prepare annual budgets and cost projection, monitor departmental performance against critical deliverables
and maintain expenditure at acceptable operational levels by applying effective budgetary controls and cost
reduction strategies.
Job Accountabilities:
Review and pre-approval of all purchase requisitions, purchase orders, gate passes and all purchase
related transactions for the areas.
Ensure verification of primary development, secondary development and production numbers by
business partners.
Prepare cost trend analysis and ensure closure of audit issues.
Ensure all purchase orders, service entry sheets, and invoices are checked and verified for accuracy
before payment.
Carry out physical verification of assets on a periodic basis.
Compile major consumption norms and ensure closure of all variances highlighted.
Ensure monthly issues to vendor accounts are reconciled and bookings done accordingly.
Carry out physical verification counts every month end and ensure all inventory match with the SAP
system data and make possible adjustments when need arises.
Any other accounting duties as maybe assigned.
Requirements:
Grade 12 school certificate
Full ACCA/CIMA/ZICA/Bachelor of Accounting qualification
Minimum 3 years industrial experience
Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong problem solving & analysis skills
Conversant with SAP
Registered member of ZICA
