Description

Role Purpose

Provide financial, adminstrative and clerical support to the organisation.
Ensure that all payments are made on a timely basis.
Receive, verify, reconcile and process invoices in iScala.
Ensure that all suppliers accounts are reconcilied in accordance with our GSM guidelines
Participate in ensuring a sucessful monthend process.
Participate in the continous improvement of the accounts payble process.
Accountabilities

Operational responsibility

Ensure that all invoices are captured in iScala on a timely basis.

Ensure that all payments are made on a timely basis and agreed schedules with all respective stakeholder.
Ensure that all concur expenses are proessed on a timely basis, ensuring adhernace to all laid down proecedures,in line with all internal audit guidelines.
Ensure that all supplier accounts are reconcilied on specified and agreed dates ( monthly, quartely or half yearly.
Ensure accurate and timely capture of invoice details on the VAT returns.
Ensure that all bank posting are made on a timely basis.
Ensure that all the bank accounts are reconcilied on WD 1 and submitted for review.
Processing of all payments, exection of bank transfer letters.
General bank administration work which includes changes of signatoires, bank letters etc.
Ensure that all supplier accounts meet all the key guidelines in terms of bank details in iScala.
Administration of sharepoint related to our basic internal control (BIC 15), ensuring that all the respective files have been uploaded on the sharepoint in readiness for review.
Actively participate in the month end process.
Any other duties assigned.
Organizational responsibility

For financial operations, services people & processes in area of accountability.
Ensures efficient and effective communication flow and networking among Business Partners, SBS, Commercial and Corporate Functions.
Fosters and facilitates communication, sharing and teamwork in the Legal Entity leadership Teams and with SBS.
Representation of Syngenta

Representing Finance Services to internal & external stakeholders.
Builds trust inside the company and in the local community showing ethical considerations and Syngenta values are reflected in company communications and activities.
Uses high professional (behavioral) standards in contacts with external stakeholders (tax authority, external auditors etc.).

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

Critical knowledge

Good understanding of local Generally Accepted Accounting Policies/ IFRS, forecasting and financial analysis.
Good understanding of business end to end processes and internal controls necessary to safeguard the Company’s assets. Prior experience in IT Systems enabling financial management.
Experience in working in multi national organizations (ideally with matrix structure) with emphasis on communicating and decision making with demonstrated ability to work under pressure..

Critical experience

Qualified Accountant i.e. CIMA, CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in relevant roles.
Keen demonstrated strengths in unquestionable integrity and trustworthiness.
Experience in working in multi national organizations with emphasis on communicating and decision making with demonstrated ability to work under pressure. Must be motivated by interdependency
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

Credible with local senior management and comfortable with expressing views or putting alternate point of view in a constructive way.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Critical leadership capabilities

Manages performance to ensure high standards.
Service mindset.
Ability to communicate with diverse senior stakeholder groups.
Duration of contract: 6 months
