Animal nutritionist:
We are looking for animal nutritionist to join our team to undertake research and plan diets in order to provide our animals and livestock with nutritionally balanced food stuffs.
Responsibilities of the job include:
1. assessing the relative nutritional values of various feeds
2. supporting the work of agricultural advisers/consultants
3. visiting farms
4. interpreting forage analysis
5. using specialist computer software to devise diets and produce reports
6. working with clients to formulate diets that meet their requirements/objectives
7. analysing nutritional disorders
8. maintaining awareness of technical and scientific developments.
Working hours can be irregular but it is not usually necessary to work during weekends.
Qualification and training required
1. A degree in nutrition, animal/veterinary science, medical sciences, agriculture, or dietetics.
2. Extensive work experience in a commercial farm operation is required with more than 100 workers and more a thousand animals.

1. Ability to undertake independent research
2. Ability to communicate with clients, customers and fellow scientists
3. IT and numeracy skills
4. Self management and self motivation
5. Ability to write reports and keep good records
6. A full driving licence is very useful.
