Relevant Skills and Knowledge

Understanding accounting best practices
High attention to detail
Knowledge of IFRS, U.S GAAP, or another accounting framework
Produce work with a high level of accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Professionalism and organization skillsAssociate
Degree or at least one year of experienceKnowledge of Accounts applications
Basic Accounting Knowledge

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain an accurate record of financial transactionsUpdate and maintain the general ledger
Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system
Maintain the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers
Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactionsUse knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements
Monitor any variances from the projected budget
Recording of Debits and Credits
Record financial transactions
Reconcile bank accounts
Manage bank feeds
Handle accounts receivable
Handle accounts payableWork with your tax preparer and assist with tax compliance.

Qualifications

Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with Credits or better in five (5) subjects including Mathematics and English
Diploma in accounting, finance, or related discipline
Previous bookkeeping experience in an FMCG preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Membership Affiliation with relevant professional institutions.
