Cooler Technician

JOB PURPOSE

The cooler technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cold drink equipment and cooling systems to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operation.

The successful candidate will support equipment performance, minimize downtime, maintain compliance with safety standards, and provide technical support to relevant teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on cold drink equipment and coolers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults.
• Ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
• Use appropriate diagnostic tools and repair techniques.

2. Installation & Setup

• Install new cold drink equipment and coolers according to manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out proper equipment setup, testing, and calibration.
• Ensure newly installed equipment meets required operational and performance standards.

3. Inspection & Compliance

• Conduct regular inspections of cooling equipment and related systems.
• Identify and report safety, mechanical, electrical, or operational issues.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable safety and operational standards.

4. Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
• Prepare maintenance and equipment status reports.
• Document faults, corrective actions, and outstanding technical issues.

5. Collaboration & Technical Support

• Work closely with logistics and distribution teams to coordinate equipment maintenance.
• Minimize operational disruptions caused by equipment breakdowns.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other staff when required.
• Assist with training staff on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a technician.
• Experience with cold drink equipment, coolers, refrigeration systems, bottling, or manufacturing equipment is preferred.
• Proven experience in preventive and corrective equipment maintenance.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Understanding of equipment and logistics operations within the bottling or manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
