ABOUT ZCAS UNIVERSITY
ZCAS University is a Tier 1 University registered under the Higher Education Authority Act No. 4 of 2013 as amended by Higher education (Amendment) Act No.23 of 2021, offering Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and Doctorate degree programmes on full time, part time and distance educations modes of study. The degree programme on offer in Accountancy, Computing, Technology and Applied Sciences, Law, Finance and Business-related disciplines.
ZCAS University has wide diversity in its student population with many coming from neighbouring countries such as Zimbabwe, Malawi, Namibia and Democratic Republic of Congo. Others come from as far out as China and India.

Position
Deputy Vice Chancellor – Research, Consultancy & Innovation
Reporting to: Vice -Chancellor
Job Purpose:
To assist the Vice- Chancellor in providing professional leadership in the conduct of Research, Consultancy, and pursuit of Innovation undertakings of the University.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
i. Leads in formulation, developing and implementation of policies in research, consultancy, and innovation.
ii. Participates in the formulation, developing and implementing strategic plans.
iii. Collaborating with the Vice-Chancellor to supervise university efforts in terms of promoting research, consultancy, and innovation.
iv. Providing effective leadership for the pursuant of new ideas and processes and contribute to the existing body of knowledge.
v. Assist in maintaining high value linkages with stakeholders, especially government, local communities, co-operating partners, and the private sector.
vi. Lead the university’s efforts in mobilizing of resources from local and international sources for research, consultancy, and innovation through resource raising ventures and other innovative practices.
vii. Participate in meetings with academic and other staff and internal/external stakeholders.viii. Monitoring the implementation of University Strategic Plan regarding research, innovation, and consultancy activities to achieve the intended short and long-term goals.
ix. Managing the quality and processes of publications and commercialization of research outputs of the university.
x. Networking with external professional bodies to strengthen the University’s academic status in terms of research, consultancy, and innovation.
xi. Monitoring and supervision of university wide research and research outputs, through assessment of national as well as international impacts.
xii. Fostering a network of relationships with other higher education institutions worldwide on research, consultancy, and innovation.
xiii. Performing duties of the office of the Vice Chancellor in his/her absence when assigned to do so.
xiv. Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
Qualifications and Experience
i. Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits or better including English and Mathematics
ii. Holder of an earned PhD or equivalent, Masters and Bachelor’s, Degrees from accredited and recognized Universities.
iii. A globally renowned scholar who must have attained at least the rank of Senior Lecturer.
iv. Accomplished record of scholarly work, research, teaching, and public service.
v. Knowledge and experience of university systems.
vi. Academic leadership qualities and a good record of personal achievement in both teaching and research.
vii. Demonstrable analytical, administrative, and financial management abilities.
viii. Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience at senior management level of at least Dean of School, Director in research institution or Head of Department .
ix. Demonstrable experience in resource mobilization.
x. Membership to a professional body will be an added advantage.
