Background
John Snow Health Limited (JSH), a public health organization dedicated to improving the provision of public health services in Zambia and the region, is recruiting for District Epidemic Control Centre (DEpiCC) Economic Strengthening Coordinator for the USAID-funded Controlling HIV Epidemic for Key and Underserved Populations (CHEKUP II). CHEKUP II aims to address the needs of people living with HIV (PLHIV) and those most at risk of acquiring HIV and contribute to HIV mitigation and epidemic control. In addition, the program seeks to improve the health outcomes of priority populations in the highest HIV-burden provinces of Zambia.
This is a full-time position. There will be seven positions in total based in Chipata, Chirundu, Lusaka, Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi, Kasama, and Nakonde. The DEpICC Manager will supervise the Provider.
Description
The District Epidemic Control Centre (DEpiCC) Economic Strengthening Coordinator leads the implementation of interventions to increase uptake and sustained use of economic strengthening activities targeted at key and underserved populations.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day supervision for all CHEKUP II staff working at the district level working on district-level economic strengthening interventions
Lead implementation of district-specific public-private sector models, enhancing economic strengthening activities for CHEKUP II beneficiaries.
Implement strategies to mobilise and leverage financial and non-financial resources and incentives to improve beneficiary linkages to the private sector, including support for internships and journey to employability.
Establish networks and strategic partnerships to enable sustainable implementation of district-level economic strengthening interventions
Adhere to JSH’s personnel, financial, operations and fraud management policies.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in public health, business, economics, policy, demography, or related discipline. Master’s Degree or its equivalent is an added advantage
At least four (4) years of experience in global health, health policy, private health sector, market systems, healthcare management consulting or other relevant private and public sector experience.
Demonstrated experience successfully engaging with public and private sector partners.
Experience working in HIV Programs in the private sector an advantage
Must have excellent communication (English and language spoken in implementation district), interpersonal, analytical, decision-making, conflict management, empathy, negotiation and networking skills
Supervision and Reporting:
The DEpiCC Economic Strengthening Coordinator will work under the guidance and supervision of the DEpiCC Manager
