Driver

Job Summary
The Driver will operate under the Human Capital Department and provide
transportation and logistics support to the Human Capital and Finance functions, and other departments as required. The role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of employees, visitors, documents, and company assets while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, customer service, and compliance with road safety regulations.
The successful candidate will be expected to represent the organisation positively, ensure the roadworthiness of assigned vehicles, and contribute to the efficient delivery of business operations through reliable transport services

Key Responsibilities
– Safely transporting employees, visitors, and company property to designated locations.
– Ensuring the timely collection and delivery of documents, parcels, and other company materials
– Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and roadworthiness of the assigned vehicle at all times.
– Conducting daily, weekly, and routine vehicle inspections and reporting defects, faults, or maintenance requirements promptly.

– Monitoring scheduled servicing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure optimal vehicle performance.

– Maintaining valid vehicle documentation, including licences, insurance, road tax, and other statutory requirements
– Planning and selecting efficient travel routes to minimise delays and ensure punctuality
– Adhering strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies
– Practising defensive driving techniques and proactively identifying road safety risks.
– Maintaining accurate records of trips undertaken, mileage covered, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
– Providing transportation and logistical support to the Human Capital, Finance, and other business units as required.
– Supporting company meetings, workshops, events, and other organisational activities requiring transport services.

– Reporting any accidents, incidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage in accordance with company procedures

– Ensuring the security and confidentiality of company information, documents, and assets during transportation
– Maintaining a professional appearance and demonstrating courteous conduct when interacting with employees, customers, service providers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
– Performing any other duties reasonably assigned by management.

Minimum qualifications and Experience
– Full Grade 12 School Certificate
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
– Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ professional driving experience. preferably in a corporate environment.
– Good knowledge of local routes, road networks, and traffic regulations.

– Demonstrated accident-free driving record will be an added advantage

– Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
– Trade Test Certificate or Craft Certificate in Motor Mechanics or a related field will be an added advantage
– Ability to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of local languages will be an added advantage.
