  1. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Position: Electrical Engineer

Duty Station: Sesheke, Western Province, Zambia

Employment: Project-based / Fixed-Term

Salary: ZMW 10,000 – 15,000 gross per month

PROFESSIONAL LICENSING REQUIREMENT

Candidates must be appropriately registered with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and hold a valid current EIZ practising certificate/licence authorising them to practise in the relevant engineering field.

Candidates whose practising licences have expired, been suspended, or do not cover the relevant field will not be considered for appointment to a position requiring professional engineering practice.

 

* Practical knowledge of Zambian import/export and customs processes.

*Experience coordinating with clearing agents, freight forwarders and transport contractors.

* Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory-control procedures.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

* Excellent English communication skills.

* Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to work under pressure in a remote project environment.

* Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity.

* Ability to work effectively with Zambian and international project teams.

* Willingness to live and work at the Sesheke project site on a long-term basis.

PROJECT WORKING CONDITIONS

The positions are based at the Sesheke Solar Power Project in Western Province, Zambia.

Successful candidates must be prepared to:

Reside and work at the project site for extended periods.

* Work in a demanding construction/project environment.

* Work collaboratively with multinational project teams.

* Observe all site HSE requirements and project procedures.

* Work outside normal office hours where reasonably required by project operations, subject to applicable Zambian employment law.

* Travel or work across different project areas when required.

* Maintain a high level of professional conduct, integrity, discipline, and confidentiality.

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should submit:

  1. A comprehensive and updated CV;
  2. Copies of academic and professional qualifications;
  3. Copy of NRC or other legally acceptable identification;
  4. For engineers, valid EIZ registration and practising certificate/licence
  5. Relevant professional certificates;
  6. At least two professional referees;
  7. Evidence of relevant project experience, where applicable; and
  8. A brief cover letter indicating the position applied for.

* Provide technical input into project risk management and construction planning.

* Promote high standards of construction safety, quality, and professional engineering practice.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

* Professional registration with EIZ.

* Valid EIZ practicing certificate/licence – mandatory.

* Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant professional engineering experience

* Experience in civil works associated with solar PV, power, infrastructure, construction, or energy projects will be highly advantageous.

* Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, quality control, and technical documentation.

* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

* Excellent English communication and technical reporting skills.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

* Willingness to reside and work at the Sesheke project site for extended periods.
