VACANCY: FARM MANAGER – COMMERCIAL CATTLE RANCH
A growing commercial cattle ranch in Zambia is looking for an experienced, hardworking and results-oriented Farm Manager to joihn our team.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ranch and cattle operation, including:
– Herd management & cattle production
– Breeding, calving & weaning
– Animal health, vaccination & deworming
– Feeding, pasture & hay management
– Staff supervision & performance
– Farm records, reporting & stock control
– Ranch infrastructure, water systems & equipment
– Improving productivity and reducing operational losses.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 5 years’ practical experience managing a commercial cattle farm or ranch
• Strong practical knowledge of cattle production
• Experience with breeding programmes and herd health
• Feedlot experience is an advantage
• Good staff management and leadership skills
• Strong record-keeping and reporting abilities
• Honest, disciplined and highly accountable
• Must be prepared to live and work on the ranch
• Agricultural/Animal Science qualification is an advantage
This is a hands-on management position.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the operation, supervise people effectively and ensure that the cattle and ranch are managed to high commercial standards.
