Field Extension Officers (Multiple Positions)

About Empowering Farmers Foundation
Empowering Farmers Foundation (EFF) is a non-profit organization committed to improving rural livelihoods through sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and climate-smart development initiatives. EFF is implementing a Cashew Tree Planting Project in Western Province aimed at promoting environmental restoration, enhancing household incomes, and building climate resilience among farming communities. To support the successful implementation of this project, EFF is seeking qualified, motivated, and community-oriented individuals to join our team as Field Extension Officers.
Key Responsibilities
• Mobilize and register farmers participating in the cashew tree planting project.
• Conduct farmer training and demonstrations on cashew establishment, management, and sustainable agroforestry practices.
• Provide continuous technical support and extension services to beneficiary farmers.
• Monitor tree planting, survival rates, and maintenance activities.
• Collect, verify, and submit accurate field data and project reports.
• Facilitate distribution of seedlings and other project inputs.
• Work closely with local authorities, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
• Support project monitoring, learning, and reporting activities.
• Ensure compliance with project guidelines, safeguarding policies, and organizational procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Minimum Qualification
• A Diploma in Forestry, Agriculture, Agroforestry, Natural Resources Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Knowledge of sustainable agriculture, forestry, or agroforestry practices.
• Strong community mobilization and farmer training skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel extensively within rural communities.
Preferred Requirements
• Ability to speak Lozi fluently (mandatory).
• Candidates originating from or residing in Western Province will have an added advantage.
Previous experience working with smallholder farmers, tree planting projects, or community development programmes will be an added advantage.
