Chalimbana University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions on two (02) years renewable contract.

HUMAN RESOURCE & ADMIN MANAGER (1 POSITION)

PURPOSE:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, providing administration and Human Resources Management Services to
management, academic and non-academic communities in the
University and to relate, guide and give direction on functions of Human
Resource in the University.

Job Responsibilities:
• Organize and maintain personnel records.
• Prepares individual work plans.
• Providing efficient secretarial services to bargaining units and other committees in order to process resolutions and
implementation.
• Manage university council corporate affairs.
• Leads in the development of recruitment policies and guidelines.
•Update internal databases (e.g. record sick or maternity leave).

• Prepare HR documents, like employment contracts and new hire guides.
• Interprets and implements human resource policies, strategies and collective agreements.
• Drafts, reviews and implements health and safety policies and manuals.
• Ensures that the staff performance management system framework is developed.
• Liaise with external partners, like insurance vendors, and ensure legal compliance.
•Coordinates security services in the university.
• Create regular reports and presentations on HR Standards
• Answer employees queries about HR-related issues
•Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work
schedules)
•Writing development reports and coordinating University security
systems.
•Engages an effective communication with Union leaders and staff to enhance good industrial relations.
•Provides input to the production and implementation of the of an effective remuneration policy.
• Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event).
•Coordinates preparations of departmental budget in liaison with Finance Department.
•Provides specialist advice and guidance on matters affecting employee welfare, discipline on labour.

Job Qualifications:
•Grade 12 certificate or its equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public •Administration, Human Resource
Management or related field.
•Master’s degree in Public Administration, Human Resource Management or any related field.
•Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience.
• Must be a member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
•Must be computer literate.
