Chalimbana University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions on two (02) years renewable contract.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (1 POSITION)
Job Purpose:
Develops information systems by studying operations; designing, developing, and installing software solutions; supports.

Job Responsibilities:
• Conducting feasibility studies for upgraded software systems.
• Designing new software programs, websites, and applications.
• Writing advanced programming code.
• Reviewing updated software systems.
• Managing project timelines and tasks.
• Creating technical documents for new software programs.
•Training staff on software use.
•Work with team members to design innovative software programs that improve and simplify the online experience for stakeholders.
• Ensure all new software functions smoothly across various programs and platforms, including Microsoft and Apple products and mobile systems
• Write original code and update existing code, ensuring that all code meets program requirements
•Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs tobensure they are free of errors and function as intended
•Keep up to date on the newest technological innovations in the
field and be ready to apply relevant innovations to the University software systems

Job Qualifications:
Grade 12 certificate or its equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Software
Engineering or computer science.
• Previous experience as a software programmer or Analyst.
• Advanced knowledge of programming languages including JavaScript, HTML5, Python, Ruby on Rails, C#, Java, SQL, and
PHP.
•Knowledge of system frameworks including .NET, Git, AngularJS,
GitHub and Laravel, Django etc.
•Experience creating and maintaining databases.
Experience in Open Source technologies on Linux
•Experience working with Agile development technologies.
• Must be a Member of the ICT Association of Zambia.
