POSITION: Managing Director (MD)
LOCATION: Head Office – Lusaka, Zambia
SALARY:K20,000 and ABOVE* (Highly negotiable based on experience + Performance Bonus + Benefits)
AGE: 30 – 45 Years
TYPE: Full-Time
THE ROLE:
The MD will provide overall strategic leadership, oversee daily operations, manage the Barter & Credit portfolio, drive sales targets (1000+ farmers, K2.5M credit), build partnerships, and ensure profitability and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Develop & execute ABCC business strategy & expansion plan
– Lead Sales, Operations, Credit & Finance teams
– Manage stakeholder relations (Farmers, Agro-dealers, Govt, NGOs)
– Oversee loan portfolio quality – Target 95% repayment rate
– Ensure regulatory compliance & financial sustainability
– Represent ABCC at national forums
REQUIREMENTS:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related (Masters is an added advantage)
– *5-8+ years* proven experience in Agribusiness, Microfinance, Agri-credit, or Banking leadership
– Strong understanding of Zambian smallholder farming sector & value chains
– Excellent leadership, fundraising & business development skills
– Fluent in English, Bemba and Nyanja
– Age: 30 – 45 years
