POSITION: MECHANIC (S)

ME Long Teng a leading manufacturer of high-quality grinding media for the worldwide mining industry. It is a joint venture be-tween ME Elecmetal (a world-renowned supplier of milling solutions from Santiago Chile) and Long Teng Special Steel Co., Ltd (a premium steel products manufacturer based in Jiangsu China). The Company established its subsidiary in Zambia and constructed a worldclass forged steel grinding media production plant in Kalumbila.

Position and Responsibility
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Inspecting all equipment and machinery in the factory, e.g. gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, seals, cutting machines, cylinders, and chains, ensure everything is in working order.
• Troubleshooting and repairing all breakdowns on site.
• Replenishing lubricants in gearboxes and other transmission vessels.
• Cleaning and preventing dust particles and oil spillages on machinery and equipment.
• Provide information of every task completed to the Supervisor for record keeping.
• Changing of molds on the press machine, installation of ball sizer and welding jobs.
• Inspecting wire rope slings for cuts and kinks on the overhead cranes.
• Inspecting lifting chains and hooks for wear and tear.
• Inspecting overhead cranes and reporting any defects
• -Maintenance of Overhead Cranes

Qualification Requirements:
1. A minimum of a Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repairs and / or relevant field.
2. Minimum 2 years work experience as a mechanic in a reputable and busy environment.
3. A Certified Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
