Purpose of the Project Assistant Intern
Sightsavers is implementing the European Union funded Tusambilile Chapamo Inclusive Education project – Let us Learn Together. The Project Assistant interns will be based in Chinsali District to support the successful implementation of the Tusambilile Chapamo Inclusive Education -Let us Lean Together Project.
This is a great opportunity for someone to join the team on an internship and gain valuable experience within international development, working alongside the Programme Officer and Programme Assistant on Inclusive Education, Inclusive Eye Health and Advocacy.
About the role of Project Assistant Intern
Supporting the Inclusive Education Project team by coordinating and preparing for meetings and training workshops.
Ensuring all project documents are systematically filed on Sightsavers system
Providing excellent, quality information in case studies, and interesting news stories relating to the programme
Supporting partners as directed by the Programme Officer and programme Assistant
Work in close collaboration with the Chinsali Advocacy Network by ensuring advocacy activities are on track and documented
Provide biweekly updates on newsfeed
Maintain Sightsavers’ Advocacy Reporting App (SARA) updated
Support work on the LTP for key advocacy outputs
Support any other work as directed by Programme Manager (PM) and Country Director (CD), Zambia Country Office.
Knowledge, skills and experience for Project Assistant Intern
Essential:
Tertiary degree or equivalent qualification within international development, public health or social sciences or relevant sector
Effectively and strong communication, written and verbal
Able to advocate and influence different groups and teams
A can-do person, able to complete on deadlines and multitask
A team player who is also able to use their own initiative when required
