The Strategy department — comprising the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager Strategy and the research and project management function — drives ZCCM-IH’s competitive edge by formulating the corporate strategy, coordinating its implementation across the Company and its subsidiaries, and keeping the business agile in a rapidly changing landscape. Under the ZCCM-IH 2026–2035 Strategic Plan, the department’s objectives are to:
·       Deliver the 2035 headline goals: a USD 7 billion market capitalisation, 3.5x revenue growth, positive cashflows across six income drivers, a 3,022 MW energy generation portfolio and a USD 1.48 billion exploration portfolio value.
·       Coordinate execution of the five strategic pillars — Portfolio Growth & Revenue Expansion; Exploration Excellence & Resource Security; Value Addition & Industrialisation; Operational Excellence, ESG & Stakeholder Alignment; and Partnerships & Funding.
·       Sequence delivery through the three implementation phases — Foundation (2026–28), Growth (2029–31) and Optimisation (2032–35) — using balanced scorecards, KPIs and decision gates.
·       Provide research, project management and performance-monitoring support to the CEO, management and the Board, including oversight of subsidiary business strategies.

Job Requirements
  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent with credits or better in five subjects, including Mathematics and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A technical qualification in mining or a mining-related discipline such as Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or similar will be an added advantage.
  • Project management certification or training will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good project coordination, scheduling, report writing, minute taking, research, and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to prepare project plans, timelines, dashboards, presentations, and progress reports.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, organising, and follow-up skills.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, initiative, and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • No prior work experience is required; however, exposure to project work through studies, attachments, or internships will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of the mining and energy value chain will be an added advantage.
