POSITION: QUANTITY SURVEYOR
DEPARTMENT: Projects/Construction
REPORTS TO: Project Manager / Contracts Manager
JOB PURPOSE
To manage all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring that costs are accurately estimated, controlled, and reported while delivering projects within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQS). and tender documents.
• Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.
• Prepare project budgets and cost plans.
• Monitor project costs and ensure expenditure remains within approved budgets.
• Evaluate and certify subcontractor and supplier payment claims..
• Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost reports.
• Negotiate contracts and variations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify and manage project risks relating to cost and contracts.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, and procurement.
• Conduct site measurements and inspections as required.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and applicable regulations. • Provide commercial advice to the project team. and management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying.
Construction Management, or a related field. Membership or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body is an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, and civil engineering projects is an added advantage.
