Relationship Manager – Construction

Functionally reports to: Sector Head-construction Administratively reports to: Head Corporate Banking Supervises: Nil Location: Lusaka

Job objective(s)

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with new and existing clients in the Construction sectors, with the aim of promoting and selling the Bank’s products and services tailored to corporate institutions in these industries.

Duties & Responsbilities

• Maximize account profitability by cross-selling relevant banking products and services to Construction clients.
• Drive collections in customer accounts to support FX, trade finance, and other business opportunities.
• Identify and develop banking relationships with major Construction companies and Infrastructure corporations.
• Ensure proper documentation throughout the credit application and availment process.
• Source and monitor customer tenured investments and facilities specific to the Construction sector.
• Respond promptly and satisfactorily to client requests and complaints.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for management.
• Monitor customer accounts regularly to ensure compliance and profitability.
• Reconcile transactions on customer accounts where necessary.
• Assist with processing letters of credit, trade finance, and invisible transactions for sector clients.
• Initiate and carry out recovery actions on non-performing credit facilities.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of operational records, including existing and prospective Construction clients.

Key Performance Indicators

• Percentage of Construction sector accounts controlled by UBA in the country.

• Timeliness in delivering revenue generation reports. • Number of new corporate accounts opened in the sector.
• Timeliness and effectiveness in completing assigned tasks.
• Effectiveness in establishing new relationships within the Construction industries.
• Achievement of assigned targets versus actual performance.

Minimum Education Qualifications

• First degree in a business-related field from a recognized university with at least a Credit or better.
• Grade Twelve Certificate with at least five (05) Credits or better, including Mathematics and English.

• ZAQA verified certificates.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years in Relationship
• Management/Marketing experience, preferably with exposure to the Construction sector.
• Credit experience required.
