Sales Engineer – Valves & Piping (Zambia)
Petropipe is an industrial supply and engineering group serving the mining, oil and gas, power and process industries across Africa and the Middle East. We supply valves, piping, flow control and instrumentation, and are an authorised channel partner for Baker Hughes valve products in multiple countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are looking for a Sales Engineer based in Ndola to grow our business with mining customers across Zambia.
Location: Ndola, Copperbelt Province, with frequent travel to mine sites across the Copperbelt and North-Western Province

Key Responsibilities
– Develop new business for valves, piping, fittings, flanges, instrumentation and flow control equipment with mining companies, processing plants and their contractors
– Visit mine sites, concentrators, smelters and refineries regularly to understand their process needs, installed equipment and upcoming shutdowns
– Receive and review enquiries, check technical specifications and work with the bid team to prepare technical and commercial offers
– Follow up submitted proposals, negotiate commercial terms and convert quotations into orders
– Register Petropipe on mining companies’ vendor lists and tender portals, and keep registrations current
– Manage existing customer accounts and provide after-sales support, including coordination of deliveries to site
– Record all visits, enquiries and proposals in the CRM and submit a weekly activity plan and report
– Report market intelligence: new projects, expansions, shutdowns, competitors and customer budgets
Requirements
– Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical, Mining or Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field
– 3–6 years’ experience in B2B technical sales or an engineering or maintenance role in the mining industry
– Established contacts with mining companies and contractors on the Copperbelt and in North-Western Province
– Knowledge of industrial valves, piping, fittings and flanges
– Able to read datasheets, material take-offs (MTOs) and technical drawings
– Valid Zambian driving licence and willingness to travel frequently, including multi-day trips to mine sites
– Good spoken and written English
– In line with Zambian employment and local content regulations, this position is open only to Zambian nationals based in Ndola or the Copperbelt
Advantageous
– Experience with slurry, knife gate, control or pinch valves in mineral processing
– Knowledge of brands such as Masoneilan (Baker Hughes), Fisher, Flowserve, Weir, Metso or similar
– Experience of mine procurement and supplier registration processes in Zambia
