The University of Lusaka invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions: Lecturer – Accounting & Finance, Lecturer – Human Resource Management, Sports Officer, Public Relations Officer, and Transport and Logistics Officer.
- SPORTS OFFICER
Job Purpose
To plan, develop, and coordinate sports and recreational programs that promote student wellness, participation, and excellence in sports within the University.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise and coordinate University sports activities, competitions, and events.
- Develop and implement sports development programs for students and staff.
- Identify and nurture sporting talent within the University.
- Manage and maintain sports facilities, equipment, and resources.
- Coordinate the University’s participation in inter-university and external competitions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sports regulations.
- Prepare budgets, reports, and evaluations for sports programs.
- Liaise with sports associations, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Promote student participation in sports and recreational activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Recreation Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ relevant experience in sports administration, coaching, or program management.
- Coaching or sports management certification will be an added advantage.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organisational and event coordination skills.
- Passion for sports development and student engagement.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Creativity and initiative in program development.
