The University of Lusaka invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions: Lecturer – Accounting & Finance, Lecturer – Human Resource Management, Sports Officer, Public Relations Officer, and Transport and Logistics Officer.

  1. TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS OFFICER

Job Purpose

To manage and coordinate the University’s transport and logistics services in order to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of staff, students, and materials in support of academic and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise daily transport operations across the University.
  • Manage and maintain the University vehicle fleet, including servicing, repairs, licensing, and insurance.
  • Develop and implement transport schedules to support academic programs and institutional activities.
  • Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and institutional transport policies.
  • Monitor and control fuel consumption and transport-related expenditures.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance, and logistics operations.
  • Supervise drivers and provide performance management and guidance.
  • Coordinate logistics for university events, fieldwork, and outreach programs.
  • Prepare periodic reports on transport and logistics activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in transport and logistics management, preferably in a large institution.
  • Experience in fleet management systems and logistics coordination will be an added advantage.

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Sound knowledge of fleet and logistics management principles.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
