Job description
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly energetic, committed and passionate Zambian for the position of Supervisor – Drilling to join the versatile Mining team.
Reporting to the Coordinator – Drilling, you will be responsible for delivering the shift plan in terms of meters drilled, GET optimization, controlling the allocation of fleet, carrying out production in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner according to production budget.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
– Cost-efficient use of all drilling consumables i.e. drill bits, drill rods, hammers
– Stick to the plan and report any variation to the Drilling Coordinator.
– Ensure all production/fleet sheets are entered correctly and get to dispatch on time
– Maximize compliance with operational plans by ensuring that all activities under the coordinator’s control are carried out in accordance with the operation plans
– Ensure the efficient operation of drilling fleet by monitoring key performance measures and sustaining a continuous improvement process.
– Correct/ diligent use of Supervisor Checklist book
– Actively promote, monitor, and participate in safe working practices.
– Identify risks in the work area and use of correct controls.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
– Must have Full Grade 12 certificate
– Certificate in Mining Engineering/ 5 years’ experience in drilling
– At least 3 years of experience in continuous operations in a mining environment
– Good Communication skills both written and verbal
– Must have Zambian Blasters License
– Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
– Must have Full Grade 12 certificate
– Certificate in Mining Engineering/ 5 years’ experience in drilling
– At least 3 years of experience in continuous operations in a mining environment
– Good Communication skills both written and verbal
– Must have Zambian Blasters License
– Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
