Our client, a leading seed business, is looking for a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to join their team.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not subject to:
• Manage warehouse operations and activities;control the storage and movement of all seed( raw, processed and treated), according to Advanta warehouse guidelines
• Ensure all inventory movement is fully documented according to Advanta policies and systems.
• Ensure the seed is stocked under conducive environment; and all unfavorable conditions are controlled not to affect the condition of the seed.
• Ensure customer orders are fulfilled and dispatched in a timely manner and are accompanied by the required documentation.
•Liaise, and ensure only reliable and cost effective transporters are hired; and all affairs affecting them should be done according to the working procedures
•Ensure returns are well documented and adhere the returns policy and guidelines.
•Liaise and arrange sampling and obtain all necessary documents
•Carryout activities in the warehouse according to agreed HSEQ procedures.
•Obtain quotations for all warehouse requirements; and ensure they are paid for and collected on time.
•Monthly stock taking and reconciliation in liaison with Finance department. Assist with inventory management and control, using agreed systems and processes
•Suggest improvements to warehousing and HSEQ procedures and policies to ensure best use of QBS resources and achieve improved efficiency and safety
•Ensure best standards are practiced in terms of housekeeping, stacking, quality control, storage, FIFO/LIFO and pest control to ensure the seed maintains its good quality
•Report any nonconformities to your immediate supervisor.
•Implement the business unit budget for SCM in line with budget guidelines.
•Monitor the business unit expenses in liaison with the line manager to ensure they are managed at or below specified budget.
•Ensure all administrative functions are conducted in a timely, accurate and effective manner in accordance with company procedures.
•Host safety talks with the temporary employees every morning before work starts and conduct Job Risk Assessment for any activity before it is done; and document how to do and not to do activity.
•Ensure the temporary employees carry out activities in the warehouse according to agreed HSEQ procedures.
•Suggest any trainings required for improvement and development of the team.
•Ensure safety standards as per the local legislation.
•Implement the Quality Policy, Quality Objectives and Quality Management on warehouse and inventory management in alignment with the business strategy .
•Ensure the inventory meet the quality standards; Regularly check quality on receipt, storage, dispatch and delivery of seeds
•Implement the warehouse and logistics Standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure processes are well managed.
•Ensure that all work-related activities are carried out in a manner consistent with organization Values, Behaviors, competencies, and procedures.
•Follow up on the toller activities to ensure alignment with the company objectives and timelines
Skills
• Computer Literacy. SAP ERP knowledge is a definite advantage

Qualifications
• Degree/Diploma in agricultural science or any related field;
• 3- 4 yeas of experience in warehouse and logistics management
• Results oriented, autonomous and efficient.
• Aware of regulations and certification pertaining to in-country and cross border seed trade.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service; a customer focused individual committed to building a reputation for trust and reliability.
• Performance and results driven attitude.
• Willing to work flexibly with respect to starting and finishing times.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.Being able to work with a team and across teams.
• A “hands on” individual able to personally engage and interact with all facets of the job.
