About the role:
Our client Pilatus Engineering is seeking for an experienced individual to fill up the role of the Workshop Manager, the individual will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and supervising the day-to-day activities of the Workshop Section, controlling the quality of repairs, annual preventive maintenance systems, implementation of HSEQ standards, and performance appraisal of subordinates.
The role requires an individual who has worked in a similar role with a strong background in mechanics, parts, stock control, client management and service focus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Approve documentation of all maintenance activities.
* Ensuring proper equipment is on hand and ready to meet production demands.
* Ensure work schedules are analyzed and adjusted, production problems are solved, quality issues are handled, and manage customer interactions.
* Create improvement plans for maintenance processes.
* Ensure Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and regulations are followed.
* Implement improved maintenance regimes to enhance the reliability of business systems.
* Lead technical recovery, complex fault analysis and testing of equipment.
Lead the overall implementation of the maintenance plan.
* Manage the annual budget of the department.
* Manage multiple contractors to ensure safety requirements as well as operating and quality standards are met.
* Manage the workshop’s performance in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Provide technical guidance to maintenance teams.
* Review and approve maintenance schedule and manpower plans.
* Review audits on maintenance, repair and overhaul operations.
Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading multicultural workshop teams and proven hands-on experience in workshop management relating to repair and maintenance
* Diploma/ advanced diploma in Auto-mechanic/Mechanics or any related discipline
* Registered member of EIZ
* Professional technical qualifications in the vehicle and equipment domain
* Thorough understanding of Mechanics, parts, and stock control will be an added advantage.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with customers, suppliers and employees across all levels
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
* Knowledge on safety and health regulations regarding the safe use of machine tools (Daily execution of 5S processes)
* Be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to manage multiple priorities
