GCUB INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY PROGRAM (GCUB-MOB)
The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB) is pleased to inform suitably qualified Zambian citizens that applications are now open for the Fifth Edition of the GCUB International Mobility Program (GCUB-Mob) – Call for Applications No. 001/2026, offered by the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB).
The programme is supported by the Guimarães Rosa Institute of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IGR-MRE), the Organization of American States (OAS), the National Council of State Research Funding Agencies (CONFAP), the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUALC), and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The GCUB International Mobility Program seeks to promote international academic cooperation and develop highly qualified human capital by providing opportunities for international students to pursue postgraduate studies at leading Brazilian universities. The programme contributes to global knowledge exchange and supports the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education and Reduced Inequalities.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
For the 2026 Call, participating Brazilian universities will offer:
- 539 Master’s Degree Scholarships
- 350 Doctoral (PhD) Scholarships
- A total of 889 scholarships
Scholarships available at 62 Brazilian Universities
Academic programmes scheduled to commence in 2027.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of a country that maintains diplomatic relations with Brazil.
- Have completed a Bachelor’s Degree for Master’s applications.
- Meet the admission requirements of the selected Brazilian institution and programme.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and research potential.
- Be available to commence studies in Brazil in 2027.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Applications are submitted free of charge.
- Applicants may apply for up to four Master’s or Doctoral programmes at different Brazilian Higher Education Institutions.
- Applications may be submitted in English, Portuguese, Spanish, or French.
- Applications must be submitted online through the GCUB-Mob application portal.
