ACCOUNTANT
FEED MANUFACTURING COMPANY
Location: Zambia Lusaka

About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial management, accounting operations, tax compliance, budgeting, cost control, inventory management and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manufacturing finance, preferably within the feed, food processing, agriculture or FMCG industry, and possess a good understanding of Zambian tax and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the company’s day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger activities.
• Develop and monitor manufacturing costs and product costs, including cost per metric ton of finished feed.
• Analyse raw material costs, production costs, manufacturing overheads and production variances.
• Monitor raw material, packaging material and finished goods inventories.
• Coordinate regular stock counts and investigate inventory variances.
• Establish and maintain effective financial and internal control procedures.
• Monitor procurement costs and conduct cost and variance analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and statutory compliance.
• Liaise with Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) on tax matters, audits and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Income Tax and other applicable Zambian tax requirements.
• Ensure proper implementation and compliance with ZRA Smart Invoice requirements.
• Coordinate external and internal audits.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
• Monitor company profitability, margins, working capital and financial performance.
• Supervise and develop the finance team.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP/ accounting system.
Mandatory Qualifications & Professional Certifications
The following qualifications are required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• At least one recognized professional accounting qualification:
• CA Zambia / ZICA, ACCA, OR CIMA, or an equivalent internationally recognized professional accounting qualification.
• ZICA Membership is required/preferred for Zambian candidates, subject to applicable professional requirements.
• Professional qualifications obtained outside Zambia may be subject to ZAQA verification/recognition, where applicable.
Preferred Additional Certifications
The following will be considered an advantage:
• Full ACCA / Full CIMA / CA Zambia qualification.
• Membership of a recognized professional accounting body.
• Training or certification in IFRS.
• Training in Zambian Taxation / ZRA Compliance.
• ERP certification or strong practical ERP experience.
• Advanced Excel / Financial Modelling certification.
Required Experience
• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or Finance Manager/Financial Controller role.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, feed production, food processing, agriculture or FMCG is highly preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and inventory management is strongly preferred.
• Practical experience dealing with ZRA, VAT, PAYE,
• With holding Tax and tax audits.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and cash-flow management.

Candidates with strong manufacturing finance experience from other industries may also be considered.
