Agricultural Extension Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Agricultural Extension Officer shall carry out the following duties;-

Facilitating and talking to farmers to help them as they make decisions.

1. Convey to farmers all agriculture-related information about natural resources, crops, and animals on the best way to use farmland, how to build good irrigation
   schemes, the economic use and storage of water, how best to fight animal disease, as well as how to reduce on the cost of farming equipment and processes.

Seeing to it that relevant knowledge is put in place to yield the best results when it comes to sustainable production.

Supporting cooperation in the carrying out of programs and projects.

Making sure that good relationships in terms of communication between Farm Depot and Farmers exist.

Making frequent visits to inform customers of any promotions that may be available inorder to encourage more purchases.

Training and educating farmers, more so when it comes to poultry farming.

Giving attention to all customer inquiries regarding their chicken brooding and crops.

Cooperating with the Marketing team in supporting and promoting the Farm Depot brand.

Help deal with customer complaints in time and in a professional way.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Perfect skills in public speaking.

Very good speaking and writing Skills.

Ability to comfortably work with a large group of people.

You should have a very good liking of animals.

You must be able to understand agricultural education practices, family and consumer science.

You must be able to work with a team and contribute positively to the team.

Ability to work on your own with very little supervision.

Friendly & professional character.

You must have a diploma in agriculture with a major in animal science.

If you can ride a motorbike, that will be an added advantage.
