The Company seeks the services of Artisan Plumber (x1)

The successful candidate will be responsible in installing, maintain and repair pipes and fixtures for all sanitation systems.

The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to the following:

Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels
Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as water heaters, and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools
Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.
Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains
Install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.
Assist in developing detailed preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for plant instrumentation, control equipment, and ensure adherence to the schedules.
Participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs and observe safety company standards.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Sectional Engineer.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

Grade 12 certificate o Craft Certificate in Plumbing
2 years working experience in a similar field
A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Must have knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in bricklaying and the construction of buildings
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and objectives.
