Electrical Engineer (x1)
Category: Senior Staff

Job Purpose
He/she will be responsible for the implementation and control of certain electrical work in the Operations Department at SEOB, and it will involve the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of a number of projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Co-ordination with Electrical Engineers and Supervisors to ensure continuity of electrical supply for the mining area.
Provide technical assistance as required
Should be able to conduct site inspections and prepare monthly data based on the inspections.
Ensure safety and environmental standards are complied with.
Ensure that cost control and cost reporting is maintained.
Assist the Electrical Supervisor in the maintenance of all Mining electrical installations.
To assist in the planning and control of major shutdowns and upgrades.
Provide knowledge and skills training
Assist in identifying of needs for specialized training requirements within the fixed plant area of responsibility.
Assist in implementation of a reliable Zambian development program [succession planning] to guide and mentor upcoming leaders in your section, ensuring the record keeping are transparent and available for auditing purposes.
Any other duties as directed by the Senior Electrical Engineer

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 school certificate.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution or an equivalent electrical qualification.
Registered as a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
Registered as a member of the Engineering Registration Board of Zambia (ERB).
Minimum of 5 years’ work experience
(Underground mine), working as an appointed electrical engineer.
Maintenance and operating knowledge of
electrical low, medium and high voltage systems, protection calculations and settings.
Computer literate in all the Microsoft packages
